"International Conference of Butterfly Exhibitors & Suppliers"

LAST EDITED ON Jun-13-09 AT 01:28 AM (PST)

We are delighted to warmly extend to you the announcement of the 9th International Conference of Butterfly Exhibitors & Suppliers (ICBES 2009) which will be held on the beautiful and sunny island of Penang, Malaysia from 3rd to 7th November 2009. Being hosted by Penang Butterfly Farm with the support of the International Association of Butterfly Exhibitors & Suppliers (IABES), the upcoming ICBES continues to be the platform of gathering and networking for all the invertebrate groups, butterfly breeders, zoos, exhibitors, suppliers, entomological amateurs and specialists from around the world.

In this gathering, we are looking forward to meeting up with participants to share ideas and concerns within the butterfly & insect industry. One of the main highlights of the conference will be the updates from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and presentation of papers by members of IABES. This is also an excellent networking opportunity for those in the Europe and U.S. regions to meet our local Asian breeders & suppliers.

Other interesting programs of the conference include the tour of the Penang Heritage Trail; visit to Penang Butterfly Farm, various Breeding Centres in Malaysia, Tropical Spice Garden and Penang Hill. To extend the excitement we are organizing a post conference tour, which is from 7th to 9th November 2009 – where we will set foot on Cameron Highlands to observe the one-of-a-kind of congregation of Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing (Trogonoptera brookiana albescens) in its natural habitat.

To obtain more information or register for the conference, please visit the conference website at:

http://www.icbes.org

Currently we have registered participants from:
Malaysia
Philippines
Tanzania
Germany
USA

Sincerely,
Penang Butterfly Farm
