What non-beneficial animals or insects are attracted to a rain garden?
I am thinking of installing a rain garden. What are the drawbacks? I am concerned that it will become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects that I would not like to attract.

HELP! There are little light brown insects in the soil of my spider plant. How do I get rid of them?
I water it constantly and mist the leaves frequently. The tip of the leaves are turning brown and the new leaves that are growing have died.

What is a cool insect eating plant that can be grown indoors?
What insect eating plant can I grow indoors? I want one that is cool beautiful. I was looking at venus fly traps but they are to small and wouldn't look good on my window sill. I was also looking at flypaper style insectivore plants but I really like the idea of a closing trap.

The springtail is very common small insects that lives in rotten logs, rich soil, and other humod place...?
Its cuticles is water repellimg hydrophobic except for a strange organ, the collophore,on its ventral side. Because it lacks the excretory organs of the other insects, the springtail has this organ in contact with the water it is responsible for ion balance and secretion of wastes . If we examined the cell structure of this collophore, we would except to find a high number of.A nucleiB ribosomesC golgi bodiesD lysosomesE centriolesFrom your knowledge of the size of cell components and the process of centrifugation, what the order from first to last that the nucleus and organelles will be extracted?A ribosomes mitochondria and chlorplasts nucleus soluble cytoplasmB nucleus mitochondria and chloroplasts ribosomes soluble cytoplasmC nucleus mitochondria and chloroplasts soluble cytoplasm ribosomesD mitochondria and chloroplasts nucleus soluble cytoplasm ribosomesE soluble cytoplasm ribosomes mitchondria and chloroplasts nucleusWhich of the following is not offered as evidence in support of the endosymbiotic theory the belief that a eukaryotic cell has evolved as a" commitee" of prokaryotic cells?A Mitochondria and cholorplasts are similar in size and structure to some species of bacteriaB the ribosomes of chloroplasts and mitochondria are similar to eubacteriaC Mitochondria and chlorplasts and mitochondria are similar to eukaryotic cells and live on their own.D mitochondria and chloroplasts have their own DNA coding seperate from the eukaryotic nucleusE al of the choices offer support of the endosymbiotic theory

I have an indoor flower plant. How can I prevent it from getting infected from diseases and insects?

I moved into this house 5 months ago. This last week I have found little insects on the carpet. What can I do?
I looked up the description of them and they are called Woolly bears, the larvae of the carpet beetle. I know they are not harmful to humans but it is making me feel ill knowing they are there and worrying that the infestation will grow What should I do about it and can environmental health help me

Can anyone tell me what insect this is?
At first I thought that they were Nyctemera amica Arctiidae look it up on wikipedia.org but then i thought otherwise. Since i cannot post up pictures on yahooanswers.com, i would be glad if you provided me your email at my email at nonspammedemail yahoo.com so that i may send you the pictures from there and you can answer my question. If it is indeed Nyctemera amica Arctiidae, then tell me so. I also want to get rid of this insect because i see a lot of these near the dishes and they're like all over the house. i personally dont see the point in posting the picture. My dad is just telling me to post up this picture so that people can see what insect it is. The main question is telling me how to get rid of these insects.

How Can I Cure An Insect Problem?
I own a ground floor condo and have a back yard right outside my bedroom. Throughout the year I get all sorts of bugs coming up through the floor and every little opening in my home. Teeny tiny brown bugs that look like specs until you see them moving. Little red round things that look like beads with legs. Silverfish, spiders, tiny brown worms with bodies the same color as the wood floor in my home, little skinny black worms about an inch long and every time we open up the front door, at least one mosquito, fly or gnat gets in. But the worst is during the first warm months of the year when I get bombarded by ants. Its an infestation for about a week, I attack them, then they disappear. It's as if we're living with a plague, it gets so bad. What do I do to solve these problems? This is not a house, it's a ground floor condo. I don't understand how this could be happening? I've tried filling in all the cracks along the wood floor, but they seem to open up with the winter heat. Are there any websites that discuss these types of problems? Will changing the floor, perhaps, solve this problem? Should I cement my back yard? Thanks to all who answer

Flying Insect Comes out of My Light Fixture?
There is a flying insect that comes out of my light fixture, or around my light fixture, somehow. It buzzes and buzzes, circling that light fixture in a frenzy. It looks brown or orange. It sounds like it has some kind of shell too. What could it be? It's WINTER here. Not insect season. So this is weird to me.I know most bugs are attracted to light What I'm saying is that for the last week or so, I saw something come out of the fixture itself, or the drywall around it fly around it crazily as if it lost its home and then settle back down and crawl back up into the wall. Yesterday I saw 2 do that. I do not open windows, it is snowing here. There must be some kind of infestation in my attic and it is attracted to the light source coming from my ceiling, which is their floor....
