Question: What flowers can i plant to repel insects? in general?

Just want to know what I can plant, it's summer where I am, and they need to be able to be looked after quite easy. Is there anything that I can use to repel mosquitoes? Thanks, Wicked answers so far

Step 1 Plant tansy to repel ants, borers, beetles, cutworms, and squash bugs in your vegetable and fruit gardens. Step 2 Cultivate garlic to drive away aphids, borers, beetles and mites. Step 3 Select plantings of marigolds to combat an invasion of beetles, nematodes, tomato hornworms and whiteflies. Step 4 Choose mint and spearmint plants to eliminate ants, cabbage moths and flea beetles. Step 5 Include nasturtiums in your garden to prevent damage by aphids, Colorado potato beetles, squash bugs, and whiteflies.

Marigold. Lemongrass. Rosemary. Citronella (geranium variety) and eucalytpus if it's at least sub-tropical

It is impossible to repel all insects. Their are alot of beneficial insects that will keep the bad guys in check. Easy to grow annuals are marigolds, any of the flowering tobaccos, nasturtiams. Perennials include, rosemary, lavender, tansy and rue. If mosquitos are a problem empty any of their standing water sources. Consider buying some bird or bat houses they will more then eat their weight in bugs. Flies can be kept away temporarily by spraying the area with a lemon scented dishsoap. Its temporary but it can by you a fly free afternoon.
