Install a small black light in the center of two layers metal cage. Feed 5000 volts to each metal fence of the cage. Insert attracts by the black light and passing the gap of two fence. High voltage kill it as the current passing through it. This product sells in home store.

You can use the flash circuit out of a disposable camera to make a bug zapper. They run off of one AAA battery and can release about a 350 volt shock instantly. Just Google disposable camera flash hacks.
