Question: How do i get rid of my phobia of bugs and insects?

I am scared of almost every insect apart from flies and butterflies! Earlier this year i got bitten by a bunch of red ants, and like 2 weeks ago; I sat on a bench which seconds later I found out was an ants nest, and one by one for about 30 minutes I was bitten and I had to squash them with my fingers one by one, and now I am completely terrified of them. And I keep seeing spiders that freak me out so much! Yesterday I saw my mum kill a beatle, so I sprayed insect repellant all over myself and arround my bed. I think I am just scared of seeing the insects, how do I stop this annoying fear or phobia?

Desensitise yourself. You can do this in stages that are comfortable enough for you. Gradual and progressive exposure is the key. It's a tried and true therapeutic concept. PS: Tell your Mum to please stop killing any more 'beatles' as there's only two left now.
