The Insect Mall

Question: There's lots of these insects my room, does anyone know what they are?

They look a bit like a cross between an earwig and a centipede, they're usually about 1.5cm long, grey, 6 legs I think, with antenna and they kind of scuttle around the room. They keep appearing and I can't work out where from, I thought originally maybe from the sink since there are some in the communal showers and toilets too (I'm in university halls). Does anyone know what they are and how to get rid? I just googled cockroaches and they're not the same, they're skinnier and less beetle like.

Grey usually means silverfish..will have bristles on the tail end...originating from inside the walls and attics of the building..using a residual product around wall penetrations will help, though it is hard to treat the ceiling fixtures and any skylights. If the place ever gets treated professionally have them treat the attic space.

They sound very much like cockroaches to me. Go to google images and look and compare with what you see in your room.

Silverfish. Fireb brats look like them. Some powder, whatever you have, put out where you see them will dry them out. They need moisture to live. Oil in shallow lids will attract them and kill them. They are very common in buildings and they get in attics and walls.
