Question: How to use a spider catcher?

I am terrified of spiders especially the huge ones that hide and then run across the floor at lightening speed. We had great fun in our house practising with the plastic spider that came with the product. However I failed miserably when I saw my next monster taking a run across the carpet. I was almost too scared to approach but when I did using the catcher and extending the bristles I couldn't grab the spider as it had gone into a corner. I used the tool to squash him as I couldn't get hold of him and I was worried he would escape and then I could never relax . Is there a special technique to catch them when they go into corners or are these gadgets just gimmicks? The reason I bought it was so I didn't have to kill the spiders. Spider lovers say house spiders are not supposed to be put outside but I would prefer to do that than flush them or squash them.

I used to be very afraid of them since my mom was abused with them as a child by her step mom and she brought that fear into her marriage and eventually into her kids life. I got over my fear by trusting in God's word that He has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. I know that God created the spider for a good purpose since all his creations were for a purpose and I should not fear any of God's creations so I used that to overcome my fear. I don't pick them up with my hands like my husband does but I catch them in a jar or a napkin or something and then release them outside unless they are poisonous like a brown recluse, then I kill them so I don't have an issue with their venum since its deadly to humans. Good luck. Never used a catcher but hope these sites work.
