How can i kill a spider on my high ceiling?

Question: How can i kill a spider on my high ceiling?

(Posted by: on 2012-02-24 07:17:38)

I am DEATHLY afraid of spiders. If they are small, and on the ground or even reachable on a wall or ceiling, I can handle it... but this one is in the corner of a very high ceiling, in a web, directly over a lamp and a glass table. The only thing I can think of is a broom, but a) won't it get caught in the web? and b) I know I will freak out and drop it, which will definitely break the lamp and probably the table too. Any ideas?? Please help!!!!! p.s. saving it alive is not an option. when I say I'm deathly afraid of them I am not exaggerating... I have no interest in torturing it but I would rather have it suffer horribly than have to carry it somewhere while it's alive - I would probably pass out, and how would that help me? And please, don't tell me to just leave it there. If it makes its way onto the floor at any point, either the cats or the baby are sure to go after it and end up getting hurt. Plus I will imagine it crawling towards me unless I have it within my sight, and I don't have time to sit here staring at it all day.

Simply ask a neighbor to come in and do it for you, because like you said you will freak out if you don't get it with the broom and most likely you won't. ~ I am not in any way telling you to save it, but, if it is alive just think about what it is eating! ~ Ask a neighbor to remove this terrorizing beast from your home ~ getting it with the vacuum is a good idea, but that won't kill it and you'll have to remove the bag immediately before it finds its way out - if you have a bag less vacuum, you may break it when carrying out to clean it - I still say get someone else to do it for you. I don't want you to pass out or break something while trying to get rid of it ~ remove the lamp and glass table before doing anything - even if you do get someone to remove it for you

I get some kind of spray that will shoot kinda far even if it's hair spray. It will gag it and it shld fall. Then stomp on it

Put some white vinegar in a spray bottle, place it on the concentrated stream setting and blast away. Vinegar is 100% environmentally friendly. You can even mix the vinegar with water, but I would stick with the pure stuff. Alternately, you might try liquid dish soap; however, I do not know how effective this would be. Good luck and happy hunting. :o)

Shoot it down with a spray bottle, then kill or trap it while it's in temporary shock from the hit/ fall. The only thing is that if you have "popcorn " ceilings, some of the popcorn can come loose from being hit by the water. That's what I do with spiders in my room. It's kind of fun to shoot them down.

Your problem is not the spider, but your fear of them. Do something about your arachnophobia, then you wont care if the spider is there or not, and you would find it very easy to deal with spiders. No, the spider is not going to pose any threat to you, your children, or your pets. (your cats will likely eat the spider)

Shoot it down with a rifle...
