Hi Ki, If it is just too cold, the adult spiders may be hiding to winter over. they may not become active again until early spring. Even if any egg sacs should hatch, the spiderlings will be too small to feed on roaches.Even though there may be a large number of spiderlings for a couple days, they will kill each other off until only a few survive,if any. Seeing an active spider, means they are still around,and active, you are just not spotting them. Have patience, As long as the spiders can find roaches,they wont leave, but they are not miracle workers either. you are still going to see roaches, just not in large numbers. Any egg sacs outside are not going to hatch until the weather warms.
