Ova of Nevada Buck Moth Hemileuca nevadensis
I found a pair of mating nevadensis in my emerging cage. After awhile I placed the female in a paper bag. Many gravid Saturnid moths will simply lay their eggs on the inside flat surface of the bag when placed inside but these moths prefer to oviposit on round surfaces such as twigs or branches. True to form, she laid the eggs in a spiral fashion around the chopstick. From caterpillars found in Riverside County, California.
