Rearing Papilio rutulus

To get the next generation I hand pair the emerging, captive adult butterflies and start the process all over again. In this photo the male is hanging below the female. For successful hand-pairing the male rutulus must be a minimum of three days old and the female as young as possible and virgin. Click here to see more about hand pairing Papilios.

This concludes the photo series for rutulus. Many thanks to Bill Gendron for his support and assistance on this project.
