Sonoran Blue Rearing Project
This is another cage type used for holding the Sonoran Blues for ovipositing. I eventually went with this cage over the plastic jar method because it was easier to place and remove the potted plants inside. On the left is the potted stonecrop. On the right is a potted flower for nectar feeding. I kept the cages indoors and placed them under a flourescent light by day. The light stimulated the females to oviposit. Keeping the cages outside caused the females to be distracted by the sunlight and try to escape.
