This is my colleague with his 'Port-a-Bug', looking for the larvae and adults of the Baird's Swallowtail. San Bernardino Mountains, California. We were somewhat successful that day, though we had to expend a lot of hours and calories carefully searching the forest. The small weeds growing at his feet are the larval food plants: Artemisia dracunculus.
